A rocket by a private European aerospace company launched from Norway on Sunday and crashed into the sea 30 seconds later. The Isar Aerospace startup headquartered in Munich said Sunday that it had successfully completed the first test flight of its orbital launch. The Spectrum rocket launched from the island of Andøya in northern Norway. The 92-foot-long Spectrum is a two-stage launch vehicle specifically designed for small and medium satellites. The rocket lifted off from the pad and flew for about 30 seconds before falling into the sea. Sunday’s launch followed a week of poor weather conditions including a scrubbed launch on March 24 because of unfavorable winds.
